Youth Martial Arts and Self Defense Program
Alpine Grappling, in partnership with Mountain Wellness Collective, is now offering a one month comprehensive program designed to teach youth the essentials of self defense philosophy, principals and real-world skills. Students will get an introduction into various martial arts, explore aspects of common scenarios and practice the most applicable techniques. Through ongoing education and a personalized approach to each students’ needs, this program will help boost your child’s confidence, discipline and self-esteem in addition to developing their physical and mental capabilities.
INSTRUCTORS
Jesse LaFramboise: Owner/Founder of Mountain Wellness and Co-Owner of Alpine Grappling
- Former collegiate athlete and collegiate conditioning coach
- 4+ years of competitive experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Guilhem (Will) Buigues: French born, Will is a striking specialist
- 10+ years of national and international competitive experience in Vietnamese Martial Arts
- 5+ years of experience in Tae Kwon Do
Scott Conant: Long time Colorado local, physical education and wrestling expert
- 30+ years Physical Education teacher
- 28+ years of experience as wrestling coach
Veronica Joy: Specialist in numerous arts and an MMA fighter
- Taekwondo black belt
- Jiu jitsu purple belt
CURRICULUM
This comprehensive program is designed to teach youth the essentials of self defense philosophy,
principals and real-world skills. Students will get an introduction into various martial arts, explore aspects
of common scenarios and practice the most applicable techniques. It's not all work though! We will mix in
fun games that help explain the concepts we are teaching.
Week 1: Introductions, 5 Rules of Self Defense, Avoiding the Fight, Verbal and Non-verbal
Approaches, Defending Yourself, Common Scenarios, Most Applicable Striking Techniques
Week 2: Review, Bullying, Non-confrontational Stance, Base/Posture/Structure, Situational Awareness,
Takedowns, Pinning, Most Applicable Wrestling Techniques
Week 3: Review, Advanced Scenarios, Defending and Escaping From the Ground, Sweeping,
Establishing Control, Applying Submissions, Most Applicable Jiu Jitsu Techniques
Week 4: Review, Recognizing and Utilizing Your Strengths, Philosophy and Responsibility, Continued
Practice, Most Applicable Mixed Martial Arts Techniques. DEMONSTRATION AND AWARDS
